Maxell Introduces New High-Brightness, 3LCD Laser Projectors with Enhanced Visuals — the First Projectors Under the Maxell Brand in the North American Market
June 12, 2019
Orlando, FL., June 12, 2019 – Maxell, Ltd. today announced the launch of three new, high-brightness, 3LCD laser projectors for the North American market. This new series of laser projectors—the first to be manufactured under the Maxell brand—has been specifically designed to enhance the visual experience by delivering vivid colors, bold graphics and crisp text. The Maxell MP-WU5603 and MP-WX5603 feature 6,000 ANSI lumen brightness, while the Maxell MP-WU5503 features 5,000 ANSI lumen brightness. All three boast an industry- leading 5-year standard warranty.
These laser-light-source projectors offer 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation, and up to 50,000 hours when using Long Life 2 mode. The projectors’ long life and high reliability make them ideal for use in auditoriums, lecture halls, classrooms, conference rooms, museums and other large venues where access to the projector may be limited.
The combined power of Maxell’s original Accentualizer technology paired with the recently enhanced High Dynamic Contrast Range 2 (HDCR2) feature results in clear and vivid images, even in bright rooms. Maxell’s Accentualizer technology makes pictures look more real by enhancing sharpness, gloss and shade, while the HDCR2 technology automatically enhances the tone and color of the projected image to correct unclear images caused by room lighting.
This new series of projectors is the first projector series to be introduced in the United States and Canada under the Maxell brand name. These products reflect close coordination with customers to achieve projector designs that satisfy their real-world needs and priorities. The new series is packed with performance and reliability features that support customers and make installation and operation easy.

Orlando, FL., Jun 10, 2019 – The Optronics Division of Maxell, Ltd. today announced that beginning as of October 1, 2019, Maxell, Ltd., through its United States subsidiary, Maxell Corporation of America, will assume responsibility for all operations related to both Hitachi- brand and Maxell-brand projector products and accessories in the North American market. This announcement marks the culmination of a six-year progression that began with Maxell, Ltd.’s acquisition of Hitachi Consumer Electronics, Co., Ltd.’s projector design, development and manufacturing assets and resources in 2013.
Maxell will begin introducing many new ways to bring innovative, reliable and very high- quality projector products to the professional AV market in North America. Fortunately, the transition should be seamless for end-users and distribution partners of both the Hitachi and Maxell brands because it will not involve disruption to established resources and personnel engaged in projector-related research and development, engineering, sales, marketing or product support.
The planned October 1, 2019 transition will ensure that all original warranty, service and support obligations applicable to both Hitachi-brand and Maxell-brand projector products occurring prior to that date will continue to be fully honored and upheld.
In addition, important customer benefits and loyalty programs for house of worship and education customers, such as the OneVision and OneVision Kids programs, will continue without interruption.
